Resources for Capital Raising

November 17th, 2025

Interested in raising capital in alignment with your organization’s mission and values? Explore mission-driven strategies and resources for social enterprises, nonprofits, cooperatives, and community investment funds.

General Capital Raising Resources

Regulation Crowdfunding (Reg CF)

Reg CF is an exempt offering strategy that allows startups and small businesses to raise capital directly from their community.

Nonprofits

Nonprofits play an integral role in tackling some of the biggest socioeconomic and environmental problems we face today. Nonprofits also represent the third largest workforce in the U.S. alone, employing over 12 million people. We help form nonprofit structures, from simple stand-alone charities to hybrid nonprofit and for profit structures.

Regulation A (Reg A)

Reg A allows a social enterprise to offer an investment opportunity directly to their whole community, not just the wealthiest in their networks. This direct public offering differs from other DPO strategies in a few ways: investors can come from multiple states; it can be used to raise more than $10 million; and organizations can advertise and market their offering to have the greatest potential reach.

Cooperatives (Co-ops)

Cooperatives provide opportunities for shared ownership, fostering community wealth and empowering members to address socioeconomic issues. We support all stages of co-op formation or conversion, as well as expertise related to co-op laws, legal issues, and other forms of shared ownership.

Private Offerings

A private placement or private offering is exempt from federal registration and not usually offered broadly to the public. This includes offerings to friends and family, angel investors, foundations, and venture capital investments.

Community Investment Funds (CIF)

Community Investment Funds are key to democratizing our economy by providing opportunity for anyone of any means to invest in their own community and thereby build enduring wealth.
