Reflecting on 2025: Collaboration and Community

PathLight Law is thankful for the work we get to do with all of our clients. Some of the initiatives we are proud of contributing to in 2025 include:

Development of professional cooperatives

Therapists and other service professionals are exploring the benefits of forming or converting to worker-owned cooperatives. The Chicago Center for Relationship Counseling is an LMFT practice that closed its co-op conversion October 1, 2025. Many other clients are looking to make this transformation in 2026. Stay tuned on how this transformation can be done and hear best practices and lessons learned from those who have led the way.

Community-centered capital raising

Community-centered capital raising continues to grow with the development of community wealth building initiatives and community investment vehicles. Many of our clients’ projects are live and some are coming soon: We the People, Lansing Growth Fund, InvestMitt, Rhode Island Community Investment Cooperative, WePower, South Como, Black Farmer Fund, California Farmlink, and Foodshed Capital.

Ecosystem collaborations

Collaborative work with ecosystem builders who are incubating solutions for fair livelihoods, flourishing communities, social finance and more—Democracy at Work Institute, Project Equity, Shared Capital, Lendonate, NC3, and Resilience Force.
